How do they work?
First, it is important to understand that trim tabs become an extension of the boat’s running surface, and therefore change the performance and handling characteristics as they adjust. This happens automatically with SMART TABS because they react to the water pressure, boat speed, and payload.
At slow speeds they deploy downward which increases stern lift, keeping the boat more level and allowing it to plane easier at much slower speeds. At cruising speeds they are pushed up by the water pressure, but remain under a load creating ride control like shock absorbers. No need to worry about tab position when pulling a tube, wake board, or skier. Just use the boat and enjoy the benefits.
SMART TABS use a nitrogen gas actuator to hold the plates down during acceleration and provide lift to the stern. The plate size and actuator resistance (pressure) are determined by the boat size and horsepower at the time of installation. Even after installation the SMART TABS system can be tuned to the specific boat or the consumer’s preference.
All of this is done without the need for electric or hydraulic connection, feed holes, or manual switches. A few common tools are all it takes to do the installation in an hour or less.
Installation is SIMPLE!
With an electric drill, two drill bits (1/8" and 3/16"), a phillips screwdriver, and two wrenches, just about anyone can install SMART TABS in less than an hour. Professional installers should be able to install SMART TABS in 30 minutes or less.

Nauticus, Inc. warrants that any appropriately sized and applicable SMART TABS set will improve the overall performance of a planing hull power boat, as claimed by the company, to the satisfaction of the original purchaser. This offer is extended to the original purchaser for up to 30 days from the date of purchase. If for any reason the original purchaser feels that the Nauticus product he/she purchased does not improve the performance of his/her boat and the customer wants to return the product for a refund or credit, Nauticus requires that the original purchaser contact the consumer help desk at (800) 233-0194 to discuss the perceived deficiencies. If the deficiency can not be resolved to the original purchaser's satisfaction, a Return Authorization Number will be issued. The SMART TABS must be returned to Nauticus, Inc., 8080 Snowville Road, Brecksville, OH 44141. Upon receipt and inspection of the returned product, a refund will be issued to the customer for the full purchase price of the SMART TABS set excluding labor charges.
LIMITED WARRANTY
Nauticus,Inc. warrants to the first retail purchaser of this product that it is free from defects in material and/or workmanship for a period of; five (5) years on all metal and/or composite components; and two (2) years for rubber boot covers and gas actuators, from the date of purchase. The proper operation of this product is dependent upon the compliance with the installation and owners manual instructions regarding the installation, operation, maintenance, and testing. Failure to comply with the instructions may void the warranty. If during the period of this warranty it appears as tough this product or components are defective, call for assistance and instructions (800-233-0194 or 440746-1290). This limited warranty is in lieu of any other warranties, expressed or implied. This warranty does not cover non defective damage, damage caused by improper installation, operation, or care (including but not limited to abuse, misuse, failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance, or any alterations to the product), and labor charges for removal or reinstallation. Under no circumstances shall Nauticus, Inc. be liable for consequential, incidental, or special damages arising in connection with the use or inability to use this product. In no event shall the liability of Nauticus, Inc. exceed the cost of the product covered hereby.
